Carmel Diagnostics was founded by
Tzali Cnaani in January 19, 2009, after a management buyout of
Lumitest's intellectual and tangible assets.
The source of those assets was a long research-and-development process that started with
Dr. Sergei Shnizer's innovative ideas and continued with the construction and validation of
TCL Analyzer™.
After validation of the basic concepts and the operability, development efforts were focused on pre-clinical studies of a selected clinical application.
Outstanding Israeli scientists have supported the research-and-development process.
Prof. Aaron Ciechanover, a renowned biologist and Nobel laureate in Chemistry for his discovery, with Avram Hershko and Irwin Rose, of ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation, served as Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of Lumitest and made significant contributions to the TCL technology.
